Dr Weston A. Price
1870 – 1948
Where All of This Begins
The Wisdom Came First. The Science Caught Up.
In the 1930s a Cleveland dentist went looking for the healthiest mouths on
earth. He found them — and what they had in common wasn't dentistry.
It was dinner.
What he came back with
The old diet, unbroken. Broad arches. Teeth in straight rows.
No dentist within hundreds of miles, and none needed.
A lifetime on the same food. Older adults, still with their
own teeth — the outcome Price kept finding wherever people were fed real,
nutrient-rich food.
01
Ancestral Wisdom
Thousands of years
Swiss villagers. Gaelic fishermen. Maasai herders. Inuit hunters. No contact,
no shared language, no common ancestry — and the same priorities at every
table: organ meats, oily fish, butter from grazing herds. They fed these foods
to mothers before conception and to children as their adult teeth came in. They
called them sacred. Nobody could say why.
02
What Price Documented
The 1930s
He set out to explain it. Ten years, fourteen societies, roughly fifteen thousand
photographs. Communities eating the traditional foods of their ancestors kept
strong, straight teeth; when refined flour and sugar arrived by supply ship, the
same families lost that protection within a single generation. Price traced it to
what he called the fat-soluble activators — the concentrated nutrients in
animal foods that the modern diet had stripped away.
03
What Modern Research Shows
Today
We can now measure what Price could only observe, and the nutrients keep pointing
back to the same foods. Vitamin D helps the body use the calcium teeth are built
from. Vitamin K2 helps direct that calcium into bone and teeth rather than soft
tissue. Vitamin A guides the formation of enamel itself. Every study on the rest of
this page puts modern evidence behind one of these nutrients — and every one
of them sits inside Dentite Complete Care.

Fourteen societies, roughly 15,000 photographs, dental examinations and food
analyses. Price observed that groups eating their traditional diets had markedly
better teeth — and that this changed when refined flour and sugar arrived.

Nano-Hydroxyapatite
Tooth enamel is mostly hydroxyapatite. Nano-hydroxyapatite is the same mineral,
milled to a particle size close to enamel's own crystals. This is the most heavily
studied ingredient in the Dentite system — with human trials running as long as
eighteen months, and a European Commission safety assessment behind it.
2021Amaechi BT, Lemke KC, Saha S, Luong MN, Gelfond J · BDJ Open · 7:23
Double-blind trial at UT Health San Antonio. Over eight weeks, toothpaste
with 15% nano-hydroxyapatite relieved cold and air sensitivity as effectively
as a leading desensitising dentifrice.
2023Frontiers in Public Health · 11:1199728 · Open access
189 adults over eighteen months. 89.3% of the hydroxyapatite group showed no
increase in decayed, missing or filled surfaces, against 87.4% of the fluoride
group — a fluoride-free formula holding its own against 1450 ppm.
2021Paszynska E et al. · Scientific Reports · Open access
207 children followed for 336 days, comparing a fluoride-free hydroxyapatite
toothpaste against a fluoride one. Caries occurrence was near-identical
between the two groups.
2019Schlagenhauf U et al. · 6-month controlled trial · NCT02705456
Braces are one of the hardest tests in oral care. In highly caries-active
patients, the hydroxyapatite dentifrice performed no differently from a
1400 ppm fluoride toothpaste.
A pre-registered synthesis of the fluoride-free nano-hydroxyapatite literature,
assessing whether it enhances remineralisation or slows demineralisation of
enamel.
2020Martins CC et al. · Journal of Dental Research · 99:514–522
Published in the field's leading journal, this network meta-analysis compares
every major desensitising agent against each other rather than one at a time.
2015Amaechi BT, Mathews SM, Ramalingam K, Mensinkai PK · American Journal of Dentistry · 28:33–39
Human root specimens worn in real mouths. Nano-hydroxyapatite formed a mineral
layer over dentin and physically occluded the tubules — the mechanism behind
sensitivity relief.
2012Hannig M, Hannig C · Advances in Dental Research · 24:53–57
The mechanism paper. Nano-hydroxyapatite is thought to act as a calcium and
phosphate reservoir, holding the tooth surface in a supersaturated state that
favours crystal growth.
2025European Commission · Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety · SCCS/1677/25
The EU's consumer safety committee assessed nano-hydroxyapatite as safe at up to
29.5% in toothpaste and 10% in mouthwash — raising its own earlier limits after
a fresh review of the evidence.
2026Fandrich P, Stammler FJ, Enax J, Schulze zur Wiesche E, Amaechi BT, Fabritius H-O, Hellweg T · BDJ Open · 12:25 · Open access
Hydroxyapatite neutralised 98–99.9% of the acid in every solution tested,
including Coca-Cola and Sprite — most of it within 20 seconds, about the time
you'd swish a mouthwash. It releases calcium as it works, and its own structure
comes through intact.

Theobromine
The alkaloid that gives cacao its bitterness. A growing body of research finds it
supports enamel hardness and helps seal the open tubules behind everyday tooth
sensitivity.
2013Amaechi BT, Porteous N, Ramalingam K et al. · Caries Research · 47(5):399–405
The anchor study. Measured by surface microhardness and microradiography,
theobromine produced significant remineralisation — and was statistically
indistinguishable from a sodium fluoride toothpaste.
Volunteers wore dentin blocks on intraoral appliances for seven days.
Theobromine toothpastes occluded tubules faster than a bioglass comparator,
examined under scanning electron microscopy.
2021Durhan MA, Bilsel SO, Gokkaya B, Kulan Yildiz P, Kargul B · Acta Stomatologica Croatica · 55(1):18–27
One of the few clinical studies of theobromine in children, tracking salivary
pH, buffering capacity and Streptococcus mutans against a fluoride toothpaste.
2021Farhad F, Kazemi S, Bijani A, Pasdar N · Frontiers in Dentistry · Open access
Ninety extracted premolars, theobromine against 0.05% sodium fluoride, assessed
by microhardness and elemental spectroscopy.

Nano Silver
Silver has been used against microbes for centuries. At nanoscale its surface area
rises sharply, and so does its activity — which is why it now appears across modern
dentistry, from restorative materials to mouthwashes.
2004Sondi I, Salopek-Sondi B · Journal of Colloid and Interface Science · 275(1):177–182
The foundational paper, cited thousands of times since. Electron microscopy
showed silver nanoparticles accumulating in the bacterial membrane and pitting
the cell wall.
2015Corrêa JM et al. · International Journal of Biomaterials · Open access

long-term effectiveness — including the authors' call for more work on optimal
concentration.

A wide survey of where silver nanoparticles are used across dentistry, and where
the evidence is still thin.

Gumtite Ozonated Oil Pulling · Outside-In
Ozonated Oil & Oil Pulling
Oil pulling is an ancient practice; ozonated oil is a modern upgrade to it. The
research consistently points the same way — the clearest benefits show up at the
gumline, in the places brushing tends to miss.
2025Frontiers in Oral Health · 12 randomised trials · 456 subjects · Open access
The best single source on ozonated olive oil. Assessed probing depth, bleeding
on probing and attachment level for periodontitis, and plaque, gingival and
bleeding indices for gingivitis.
2024Jong DO et al. · International Journal of Dental Hygiene · 25 trials · 1,184 participants
The most rigorous look at oil pulling to date: 25 trials and 1,184 participants.
The authors concluded there is a probable benefit for gingival health.
2025BMC Oral Health · 25:433 · Trials from 2018–2024 · Open access
A more recent synthesis, finding ozone effective for periodontal health and soft
tissue healing, with ozonated materials showing promise for sensitivity.

Vitamin D3, Vitamin K2 & Omega-3
The fat-soluble side of the ritual. These are the nutrients your body uses to place
minerals where they belong and to keep inflammation in check — the part of oral
health that no toothpaste can reach.
2013Hujoel PP · Nutrition Reviews · 71(2):88–97 · University of Washington
24 controlled trials across 2,827 children from the University of Washington's
Dr Philippe Hujoel. Pooled together, vitamin D supplementation was associated
with roughly half the rate of dental caries.
2023Li Z, Wei X, Shao Z, Liu H, Bai S · BMC Oral Health · 23:768 · Open access
13 studies of high methodological quality. Children with vitamin D deficiency
carried a 22% higher risk of dental caries than those with normal levels.
2013Knapen MH, Drummen NE, Smit E, Vermeer C, Theuwissen E · Osteoporosis International · 24:2499–2507
Three years of vitamin K2 as MK-7. Vitamin K activates osteocalcin, the protein
that binds calcium into bone — the same mineral chemistry your teeth depend on.

Nourish · Inside-Out
Organ Nutrition
Traditional cultures ate the whole animal, and organs were the prized part. We're
not asking you to take that on faith. Below is the modern research on the specific
compounds organ meats concentrate — CoQ10, B12, folate, retinol and the trace
minerals — and what they do for teeth and gums.
2018Dommisch H, Kuzmanova D, Jönsson D, Grant M, Chapple I · Periodontology 2000 · 78(1):129–153
The cornerstone reference, in the field's most authoritative review journal. It
covers vitamin A, the B complex, C, D, E and coenzyme Q10, plus calcium,
magnesium, iron, zinc, copper, manganese and selenium — nearly every compound an
organ blend delivers.
2025Ten randomised trials · PROSPERO CRD42022311286 · Databases screened to May 2024
Beef heart is the richest dietary source of CoQ10. This review found the benefit
came specifically from CoQ10 taken by mouth as a supplement — the same way
Nourish is taken.
CoQ10 works as an antioxidant, scavenging the reactive oxygen species that drive
gum tissue breakdown. Gingival CoQ10 levels are known to fall in periodontitis.
2009Volkov I, Rudoy I, Freud T et al. · Journal of the American Board of Family Medicine · 22(1):9–16
Six months, placebo-controlled. Duration, ulcer count and pain all fell
significantly — and, interestingly, regardless of whether the person started
deficient. Beef liver is among the densest B12 sources there is.
1984Pack AR · Journal of Clinical Periodontology · 11(9):619–628
Sixty subjects, four weeks, double-blind. Folate produced significant reductions
in gum redness and bleeding — early evidence that this B vitamin matters to
the health of gum tissue. Liver is one of the richest food sources of it.
1980Pack AR, Thomson ME · Journal of Clinical Periodontology · 7(5):402–414
Gum inflammation rose through pregnancy in every group except the folate one. An
early, careful look at nutrition and gum health. Liver is a leading folate source.
2023Samuel SR, Lai CWM, Khan MM, Mathew MG, Kramer MS, Hsu CYS · Journal of Dental Research
Vitamin A is central to how enamel forms in the first place, and liver is the
richest food source of it. Vitamin A has a daily upper limit, so speak to your
healthcare provider before adding liver if you're pregnant.
2023Kuzmanova D, Dommisch H · European Federation of Periodontology
From Europe's periodontal authority: people with periodontitis show significantly
lower dietary intake of calcium, magnesium, copper and selenium — with matching
lower serum and saliva levels.
